I recently installed Finale v27 and I now see that in my Score Manager it only says "ARIA Player" for instrument, rather than "Garritan Personal Orchestra 5" as I would have expected. All the sounds still seem to be there in my scores, but I'm now experiencing playback issues with some of the instruments. Is there a compatibility issue between these two products? I tried reinstalling GPO5, but it didn't fix the problem. Any help here would be appreciated.

Finale 27. Garritan Personal Orchestra 5. iMac 27 Retina (late 2015). Mac OS Big Sur. Finale user since 1995

GPO5 works with v27 as it did before. Run MIDI/Audio > Reassign Playback Sounds to reconnect. (This assumed the GPO5 is at the top of your Sound Priority List.)

If your lefthand column in the Score Manager has some rows labeled as Unassigned (as I have found in some very old files), it is best to assign them to the instruments desired first.

OK, good to know. I think I may have put the samples in the wrong folder when I re-installed GPO5. Do you happen to know where they're supposed to go? ARIA player seems to not be finding a bunch of them

I let the installer install the files where it will, so I have never faced that situation.

I just installed Finale 27. The only sounds available are Garritan Instruments for Finale and SmartMusic SoftSynth.

I did as above--but in Sound Priority List, only these two are listed.

NONE of my Garritan instruments are listed.

Help??

I just downloaded the latest Finale version and GPO 5 but cannot find GPO 5 anywhere when Finale is open. Someone please help. I'm very confused and online directions don't seem to help. Is there a way someone can call and walk me through it?

This is a Users forum. You can contact MakeMusic Support through the Submit a request link at the top of the page. Support will want a lot of information so that they can help you. Since none of us read minds, we need pretty much the same information starting with your OS and platform —if, say, your on a Mac, we will need to know what Mac it is, too. Do not post your serial# or contact info. Please read the following so we'll know enough to help.

What a chilling response. No regard for decency.

If no one knows what your setup is, no one can help you. That goes for support, too.

As has been said, we don't now your setup, but in Windows 10 with Finale 27.3  it works for me here:

GPO5, Instruments for Finale and the ARIA Player are in C: > Program Files > Garritan
The ARIA player also resides here - C: > Program Files > MakeMusic > Finale > 27 > VST Support

Once they are there, in Finale go to -  MIDI/Audio > Device Setup > Rescan for VST Plug-ins

There are many possible causes but it happens most often when there are multiple versions installed.

Installation issues are not common but they do happen. Try reinstalling 27.3. Make sure that you run both installers in the download since there was an update in the Aria Player, too. Next reinstall GPO5.

If that doesn't do it, Support normally recommends removing Finale completely—all versions if you have more than one—then reinstall as above.

I had an issue during my first 27 install that some libraries installed in the 26 directory. MM Support was helpful.
