I just started to work with Finale plus VSL.  Doing so I edited the HP.   I also edited the Expression Tool to include "Marcato", because the marcato does not work the way it should in HP.

Today, when I click on the score using the expression tool, I get an error and Finale shuts down.  I am thinking the expression tool collection is corrupted.

Where is the Finale log?

Is there a marcato VSL can use that finale will recognize instead of adding text "marcato" to the score?

  1. Windows 7 x 64   Finale 25
  2. Finale breaks and exits when I use VSL + Finale v25 + Expression Tool
  3. Start VSL Ensemble Pro 6 latest version.  Add in VSL Dimension String.
  4. Start Finale.
  5. Edit score by adding an expression.  Use the expression Tool 
  6. Finale throws error and shuts down.

What happens if you turn Human Playback off?

I figured it out.  I deleted Finale.ini and that is all it took.

Ahhh... Windows and .ini files. I used to do tech support for a software company and had to deal with that a lot.

 

if you upgraded from an older version, you probably have more than one copy and deleting the one you did cleared up a conflict. What was the path where you found the culprit?
