That's interesting, since (as far as I know) the last version of NotePad was 2012. But in any case, a later version should be able to open a file created in an earlier version.

My issue may be similar, not sure.  I have some old manuscripts I made with Finale 2007, but when I try to open them up to print them out, I get a message on my iMac (OS 10.12.6 Sierra) that it will not open.  Is there any way to get these old manuscripts into some sort of printable format?  Thanks for any info.

As Far As I Know, Finale 2007 is not supported on Mac OS 10.12.6 Sierra.

I suppose that you are trying to open the old 2007 format documents with a newer Finale version, e. g. Finale v25, right?

Finale 2012 and older versions use the “legacy” .mus file format.

The newer versions use the new, compressed .musx file format.

Try changing the file name extension to .musx, and see whether that helps.

Correct. That isn't going to happen. I have my copy on my old G4 but never got it going on an Intel Mac.

Notepad 2012 is still available for Win but not for the Mac.

There's a $99 upgrade offer for those licensees using old versions of the paid Finale apps. Time to get current.
