Hello,

Just moved into a new mac due to operating issues with the prior. When downloading Finale and Noteperformer, no issues. Both install properly. The issue comes when I try to select Noteperformer as the active audio unit, at which point I get the spinny wheel of death and have to force quit. From that moment on, any time I try to do anything with the audio settings for that music file, Finale freezes, I get the spinny wheel of death, and I have to force quit. I have attempted uninstalling both, factory resetting the computer (no harm there; it's brand new), and it still is not working. Am I missing something?

Apologies. I have finale v. 27.2, Noteperformer v. 3.3, and a mac with Ventura 13.0 operating system.

I'm not very well versed in computer stuff so if there is any other information let me know.

Intel or AS (M1, M2) Mac? In either case, update your OS 13.3.1.

For now, I'll assume an Intel Mac.

Next, download and install the latest build of Finale from your MM User account. Run both installers in the download—this is important. When done, you will have Finale 27.3 and the latest Aria Player.

Make certain that your build of NotePerformer is 3.3.2. If not, request the latest download link from Wallander. Install it after doing the above. Reboot.

The NP install forces Finale to rescan all your plug-ins. If you have a lot of plug-ins, Finale may crash with a message telling you to delete NP. Do not do this—reinstalling NP starts the process all over again. Keep restarting Finale till it stops crashing and comes to life. I have over 700 plugs and it takes 6x for me; a buddy with over 900 plugs has to do this 8x. Once Finale finally comes up, you're good and it won't happen again. Many thanks to Arne Wallander for helping me with the diagnosis and workaround.

If you have an AS Mac, Finale must be run over Rosetta 2 to work with NotePerformer.

If you're still having problems, do you have older versions of Finale installed?

I attempted what you've instructed above. For some reason, Noteperformer isn't immediately showing up when I install it (I have to install it while Finale is open, then tell Finale to search for Audio Units, and only then does it actually show up as an option). Once it shows up, and I click on it, I get the same problem I initially had.

I'm beginning to wonder if this may be a noteperformer issue.

You never answered my question about what kind of Mac you have. Please do so.
