Alessandro Melchiorre,

The instructions in the hyperlink you attached, are not complete printing instructions; they only address one specific print problem.

In the Finale Print dialog box, did you use the pane {Layout:} where there are options for 1-up, 2-up, 4-up ?

I believe that is where you can define the layout.

my goal is simple: print a portrait A3 on two landscape A4... possible?

Possible? Yes. It may take multiple steps. I would send this into Support. Articulate exactly what you want the end result to be.

that I know Mike, I was hoping that somebody in the community had similar experience...

and, anyway, the problem is bigger than mine... it seems that Apple has deprecated tile printing even for Acrobat...

Acrobat Pro 2017 does not print over Sonoma and the Text Tool does not work. One workaround is to Save, then open in Preview and print from there. The other is to create an APFS Volume and install Ventura (time consuming but not hard).

Acrobat Pro 2020 does print over Sonoma as of a few weeks ago  — but the Text Tool still doesn't work and Adobe has no idea when this will be fixed. My workaround for Text is to add Text elements in Preview or boot into a Ventura Volume that I've created. The upgrade to 2020 is not inexpensive and I'm not happy with Adobe Support to tell me this was necessary for the Text Tool to be functional when that was untrue.

In either case, Finale prints fine from Sonoma if Acrobat is not involved as does Preview if you need to print PDF files.
