So I've been trying to download finale 2012 on my Macbook Air but it won't work. I can download the file (I already fixed the option in security preferences in order to open the file) but once I double click to run the program, it opens unarchiver which shows me a bunch of code and stuff. This isn't my first time installing stuff so I'm not sure why this is so difficult.
Same problem for me with OSX Sierra. By passing the security I get either "Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the App Store and identified developers."
or allows me to get past the licence and then I get the message "The Installation failed. The installer can't locate the data it needs to install the software. Check your install media or internet connection and try again or contact software manufacturer". This happen repeatedly and with different browsers, including Safari and Firefox.
Help would be much appreciated folks.
Finale 2012 is not compatible with Sierra. It has limited functionality if installed in an earlier OS that is upgraded to Sierra but, when I tested, I could not make it install in 10.12 if not previously installed—not even by disabling SIP. It's now 5 years old.
2014.5 and 25 install over Sierra. I don't believe that either is available as Notepad.
The free version has been discontinued for Mac, as have SongWriter and PrintMusic. Sorry.

MakeMusic announced that Notepad 2012 for Mac would be no longer be available as of last October.
If you had downloaded and registered it prior to that time, it is still available in your MakeMusic User account.
As I had posted previously, even if you were able to download it, very unlikely that it would install over Sierra. The last OS I was able to install it on was El Capitán.
I could be wrong here, but I think that it matters whether you go back to your post later, and edit the contents.
A post is positioned in the order after the time when it was first posted.
And the post stays where it is, even if you later go back, and edit the contents.
My guess is that Mike Halloran posted 3 hours ago (or perhaps earlier), while Mike Rosen posted 2 hours ago.
And then Mike Halloran edited his post 3 minutes ago.
Yes, that is what I mean:
Mike Halloran posted first.
Then, 3 minutes later Mike Rosen posted.
Since Mike Hallorans post came first, it is above, and Mike Rosens post is below.
Then, 2 hours later, Mike Halloran edited his post, and Hallorans post remained above Mike Rosens post.
3 minutes later the screen shot was taken.
