Hi
I have Finale ver 25.3.0.276 on a very old PC (operating system Windows 10 Enterprise).
I would like to transfer my Finale-software to my new MAC instead.
OR
If I cannot do that, then at least I would like to export all my Finale files to musicxml so I can still work with them in my new software.
I now have Dorico notation software.

1. First I tried to find my Finale at makemusic.com
The website say "There is no registered notation software on this account."

2. I have my serial number and usedcode - so I tried to register new product on the website.
But It does not work. The website say: "The Serial Number is not valid for this customer."
(I have tried with both the individual and organization-ownership option (since I do not remember if it is my job that bought the license or if it was me back in the day...)

So I give up this and go back to my old PC computer.
I have to export all of my old finale files to music xml to be able to work with them on my new MAC in Dorico.
Well, surprise surprise - THAT DOESN´T WORK EITHER! :-(

3. I can open the file in Finale, but when I go to " Archive - Export - Export Musicxml" I get the error-message:
"Finale noticed an error and will be closed"
(I have a Swedish version of the software - so maybe this translation is a little wrong - but you probably understand :-)

I also get this message: "MusicXML Java native initiation error" (Directly translated from swedish)

SO, I AM STUCK!
WHAT CAN I DO???

Sadly there is no more Finale support, which was disclosed and announced over a year ago. Anyway, I suspect your best bet is to install Finale 27.4.1 on your Mac from the MakeMusic site as part of the Dorico competitive upgrade. Not my fault (I’m just a user, or rather former user) , but that’s the reality. If you purchased the windows version of F25 from MakeMusic, I’m not sure that gets you the Mac version, and certainly not F27. The only Finale product they still sell is the Dorico competitive upgrade, which I believe also gets you F27, so it might be worth it even if you already have Dorico. Not sure why your mXML export is messed up, but I also don’t know how mXML behaves on F25 and on a Windows machine. That said, exporting to mXML and importing into Dorico is not guaranteed and does have some limitations or things that likely will need to be adjusted post hoc.

You may still get support for issues concerning registration and authorization, so it's worth submitting a support request to MakeMusic.

I would like to transfer my Finale-software to my new MAC instead.

A new Mac wants to see Finale 27 which runs well over Sequoia (not so well over Tahoe). Although the direct upgrade is no longer offered, you can purchase the Crossgrade to Dorico 6 through your MakeMusic Account. You will also receive a license for Finale 27 that adds support for MusicXML 4.0.

Although 27 is Apple Silicon Native, the ARIA/GIFF Installer in the 27.4 package requires Rosetta 2 to install. How to install Rosetta 2 if not prompted:

Open Terminal.app. Copy the following command, then paste into Terminal and hit the <Enter> or Return> key.

softwareupdate --install-rosetta

I always reboot.
