I just switched from Windows to Apple with the purchase of my iMac Pro. I have been using Finale since 1990 and am very proficient. Finale's performance on my 10 core iMac is abysmal! I guess I put myself in a bad situation with too many changes at once including switching to Mac, updating Finale, and updating to Mojave. If anyone is having the same behavior of the program with the Mac version on the Mojave platform, please let me know.

… switching to Mac, updating Finale, and updating to Mojave …

What version of Mac Finale?

The new v26 seems to, generally, perform faster in Mojave.

Mac Finale 25.5.0.259,  Mojave 10.14, iMac Pro 3 GHz Xeon W, 32 GB RAM

Could it be that simple? Interesting that support never recommended the upgrade.  I'll give it a try right now. Thanks for the quick reply Peter.

Retina Mac performance has been a problem in all Mac OS—the number of cores doesn't matter. Many Win users with 4K monitors have also complained.

26 is supposed to improve this.

OMG! Like night & day. Problem solved. I will educate the Finale technical folks (if they ever follow up) who should have suggested this super simple fix first. Thank you all.  I think in the beginning, Windows---> Mac converts have sudden remorse any time something doesn't go quite right. Chris

I have a new iMac peon version, and it’s pretty nice.
