Today when I tried to open Finale, it said that I needed a Java update to do so -- so I downloaded Java.  Now, Finale keeps crashing whenever I attempt to make document changes regarding the beams.  As soon as I click "Ok" the program disappears.  Very frustrating --  My Macbook is operating with Mohave. Vs. 10.14.3

2014.5 is not approved for Mohave. You should upgrade Finale, or downgrade the OS.

The Java 6 runtime from Apple is required for certain functionality in 32 bit applications. If you "downloaded Java" from Oracle, you got the 68 bit Java 8 runtime. You need this

That said, Finale 2014.5 will crash if you attempt certain tasks in Mac OS 10.12/13/14 (Sierra/High Sierra/Mojave). Human Playback must also be turned off to prevent another crash. In addition, when OS 10.15 is released later this year, support for all 32 bit applications is expected to be discontinued.

The original poster (= Jennifer Baker) was using Finale 2014.5 which is not approved for Mojave.

The latest Finale version (= Finale v26) is Mojave compatible.

Yes, thank you!  I just realized how very behind the times I am and found the newest version. Thanks for your prompt reply.
