Load Audio won't sync

So, I do a backing track in BIAB, make note of the tempo and the number of measures. I export to .mp3(Finale won't take .wav), import audio, doesn't sync. If a user can't sync this audio, what good is this feature? Windows 10, Finale 26.

Choose View > Studio View. Audio tracks are only visible in Studio View.
Choose MIDI/Audio > Audio Track > Add Audio Track. An empty audio track appears beneath the TempoTap staff.
Choose MIDI/Audio > Audio Track > Load Audio. The Open dialog box appears.
Navigate to the desired audio file and click Open.

I guess I'm unable to figure out the Audio Clip Attributes dialog box for syncing up with the the Finale file. Also, Finale balks at importing a .wav file.

I assume that you instructed Finale to play back at the same tempo than the audio file.

Check the Audio Setup -> Sample rate and compare it to the sample rate of your audio file, because a difference could cause a change of tempo. Standard is 44.100.

P.S. : on the Mac, importing .wav works, not always a .mp3 file nor .aiff ... (my experience).

The Audio Clip Attributes window allows you to adjust the position (start) of the audio file in relationship to the Finale score to have them synced.

Tempo isn't a problem. The start of the file is.

Then...

The Audio Clip Attributes window allows you to adjust the position (start) of the audio file in relationship to the Finale score to have them synced.

If things work as they should :

• Start in score = moves the whole audio file to a specific position to the right (after 1|1|0000). It will start playing when the Finale playback reaches that point..

• Start in clip = the audio file will play from a specific position in this audio file (not its beginning).

P.S. : sometimes it is necessary to insert a measure stack at the beginning of the Finale file to allow the audio file to start earlier.
