IIRC you would need to create your own (hidden) playback staff to voice the chords the way you want them (by selecting/notating the actual notes played) and then mute the chord symbols on the track...

I think using layers is best (more flexible) in your case. The change instrument function is really designed to use for a player that sets down one instrument and (after a period of rests) picks up...

Never experienced this myself. Of course I usually use Play From Leftmost Measure.

I never intentionally leave any program open when I expect to be away from the computer. The computer is just doing too much "housekeeping" in the background for me to trust it with any work I valu...

You can use a Staff Style to hide the key change from showing. Just deselect the Key Signature box from the Items to Display options and then Apply the Staff Style to the measure in question.

Full Finale already has the means to accomplish this. You can change the text of the commands and still get the same effect by reproducing the settings.
